Gateway to Leadership is an eight week paid summer internship program for junior undergraduates attending HBCU’s. Placed at the leading finance and investment companies in the nation, interns are given a meaningful work experience that will enhance their knowledge and passion for the industry.  Interns’ work responsibilities include asset management, research, managed accounts, trading, capital markets, sales and marketing and finance and accounting. Brianna Davis, a 2012 Gateway to Leadership participant states, “GTL provided me with the tools needed for success: exposure, education, experience, confidence in myself and my work, and substantial support.”

Applications for the summer of 2013 are due by December 15, 2012 and the on line application can be found here  or under the Scholarship section of the United Negro College Fund’s website at 

The Gateway to Leadership Webinar will feature the following panelists: Annette Singletary, United Negro College Fund; Nate Yohannes, Money Management Institute; Dawn Chase,NAACP; and Tiffani Davis and Ricardo Johnson; Gateway to Leadership Alumni and employees at JP Morgan.  The webinar will be moderated by Larry Brown, Jr., NAACP Connect Project Director.
